Musigny Grand Cru

Origin

Estate grown, produced, aged and bottled by Dufouleur Frères

Terroir

AOC Musigny Grand Cru - 100% Pinot-Noir The jewel of the domain, Musigny, has without doubt one of the best reputations of all of the Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy, which are among the rarest because only a small handful of growers - among them the Dufouleur family - own these vineyards. Situated high in the Clos du Vougeot vineyard, the south-east exposition, slope, and light thin soil permeated with rocks guarantee good drainage, allowing the grapes to ripen to ideal maturity. Musigny Grand Cru is surely one of the greatest expressions of Pinot Noir.

Wine Making

Fermentation occurs over two to three weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, which measure the phenologic components extracted when pumping the skins over, and ensure the least possible pressure on the skins Aging occurs from 18 to 22 months in oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak varying from 30% to 100% after the analysis, tasting, and evaluation of the characteristics of each vintage.
